| Dear Friend, For many a website, God has the cooties. For too many, Yaweh is No Way. For too many, it's uncool to discuss the Almighty, faith, religion -- the works. I kid you not: one conservative website even offered a lengthy praise of satanism a few months back. Well, at NRO, God and faith are not afterthoughts, nor things of which we are ashamed to mention, to write about, and, dare we say, pontificate on. So as we wind our way down in our end-of-the-year Webathon, listing just 10 of the many reasons you should support your favorite conservative website, we'll designate #4 as this: NRO is the place where you will find exceptional writing about God and man. No cooties here for The Almighty. Which should come as no surprise, as our founder -- the same founder of the modern conservative movement -- William F. Buckley Jr., launched his own career with the famous book, God and Man at Yale. From Kathryn Lopez reflecting on how faiths and religious organizations are involved in the public square, to David French brilliantly defending the First Amendment against foes of free worship, NRO writers are saying profound things, daily, about the intersection of public affairs and The Ancient of Days. That is squeamish material for many, but National Review is fearless when it comes to saying what needs to be said. The last 10 days of 2015 are the setting for a drive to raise $25,000 to fund a part of NRO's critical Social Media Outreach Project, which will afford us the means to bring NR's all-important wit and wisdom to hundreds of thousands more Americans. To date, some 300-plus have responded, selflessly, and have contributed about $20,000 towards this goal. Will you help us raise these final $5,000 (maybe even help us raise more than that)? Do so with the confidence of knowing that, not-so-indirectly, you will be supporting the very causes you find to be fundamental, to be your core beliefs, to be worthy of sane and intelligent support -- the support that NR provides relentlessly, daily, and, in our humble opinion, better than any other conservative website. Minus God-cooties! Even though we weren't created in the original 6 days, let's face it: The world is a much better place for NR being in it. Help keep us in the world, and, more importantly, in the fight, landing punches, taking names, scoring victories. You can help us by making a contribution -- whether $25, $50, $100, or more (and we find any donation to be generous) -- right here, right now. To all those who have helped our Webathon so far -- including those specifically motivated to help fund our Social Media Outreach Project -- and to all those on the cusp of hitting the DONATE button, you have our deepest appreciation. Literally: God bless, Jack Fowler Publisher National Review

A left-wing writer and racial-justice activist who has claimed that American society was "instituted by racist ideas and maintained by racist policies" published a black history book for kids earlier this year that appears to be filled with content plagiarized from other sources, according to a review of the book by National Review . Confronted with the apparent plagiarism, the book’s publisher said it would be pulled from circulation pending an investigation. Rann Miller, a New Jersey-based activist and educator, published Resistance Stories from Black History for Kids in March. According to the book, it is designed to be a "place of entry" into the history of the African people so readers will be "empowered to fight" injustices in the world. Miller, a former teacher who has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Rutgers University, also writes opinion pieces for the Philadelphia Inquirer , the Progressive Magazine, and education websites
