REUTERS/Ramadan Abed Trump's Gaza proposal Israel's defense minister ordered the army to prepare a plan to allow the "voluntary departure" of residents from Gaza, after President Donald Trump drew widespread condemnation over US plans to take over the strip. Trump's top aides staunchly defended his idea, but also backed away from elements of the proposal. Trump's intentions for Gaza have revived a vision floated by his son-in-law Jared Kushner a year ago.
