Israel Appears Ready to Attack Iran . . . Israel appears to be preparing to launch an attack soon on Iran, according to officials in the United States and Europe, a step that could further inflame the Middle East and derail or delay efforts by the Trump administration to broker a deal to cut off Iran's path to building a nuclear bomb. The concern about a potential Israeli strike and the prospect of retaliation by Iran led the United States on Wednesday to withdraw diplomats from Iraq and authorize the voluntary departure of U.S. military family members from the Middle East. Republicans lay groundwork for 'total tax cliff' at end of Trump's term . . . While the conference is pushing to make the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent, additional measures geared toward working-class Americans are being slated for expiration at the end of 2028.The major expiring tax breaks in the House-passed version of Republicans' domestic agenda bill are boosts in the standard deduction, the deduction for seniors, and the child tax credit, along with the cancellation of taxes on tips, overtime pay, and car loan interest. Despite rumblings of a protest or other significant resistance to Trump's appearance, none materialized at the president's favorite play. 'No Kings' anti-Trump military parade protests planned . . . Organizers with the "No Kings" movement are planning some 1,500 demonstrations across the country to protest the upcoming military parade Saturday. One notable location, however, is missing from that list: Washington, D.C., where the military parade will take place. Protest organizers have framed the move as a rejection of the spectacle, which will mark the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army as well as the 79th birthday of President Trump. The Hill

National Park Service Renovation To Focus On 'Reinterpreting' Thomas Jefferson . . . The National Park Service "is nearing completion of" a renovation of the Jefferson Memorial that turns the site into "a condemning portrayal" of the president's legacy, City Journal recently reported. The project aims to "completely renovate" the basement exhibit level of the memorial to "[provide] more perspectives as it shares Thomas Jefferson's multi-faceted story," a 2021 NPS press release said. Sham Palestinian Charity Sanctioned Over Work With Hamas Has Also Partnered With Elite US Universities . . . A sham Palestinian charity added to the U.S. terrorist sanctions list this week has worked closely with elite American universities—including Harvard, Yale, and Columbia—to promote anti-Israel propaganda. The U.S. Department of the Treasury said the West Bank-based Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, which describes itself as a "civil institution that works to support Palestinian political prisoners," has "long supported and is affiliated" . . . with a terrorist group that took part in the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks. A new poll released Wednesday shows that a majority of Americans approve of the Trump administration's efforts to detain illegal aliens in Los Angeles as well as the president's decision to send in the National Guard to control violence. The RMG Research poll, which was conducted on June 9—two days after President Donald Trump called up the National Guard to restore order in LA—asked a sample of 1,000 registered voters what they think about immigration, Trump's policies, and the usage of the National Guard. Protester Attacks Heritage Foundation Security With Pepper Spray, Is Arrested . . . Capitol Police arrested a man outside The Heritage Foundation after he allegedly sprayed two security personnel with pepper spray. The incident occurred Wednesday morning outside the conservative policy organization, located on a busy thoroughfare just blocks from the U.S. Capitol. "Heritage believes in the First Amendment and respects American citizens' right to disagree and to protest peacefully," said Eric Korsvall, chief operating officer at The Heritage Foundation. There appear to be no survivors after Air India plane carrying 242 people crashes minutes after taking off . . . A Boeing passenger plane bound for London crashed soon after taking off in India on Thursday, likely killing all 242 onboard and likely many more on the ground as it crashed in a fireball in a busy residential neighborhood. Air India Flight 171 crashed in Ahmedabad — a city of about 5 million people — roughly five minutes after taking off heading to London Gatwick, according to officials. "It appears there are no survivors in the plane crash," Commissioner G.S. Malik said, adding that "some locals would have also died" in the buildings it crashed into. New York Post

Inside South Africa's Farm Attacks: One Woman's Fight For Survival And Justice . . . Elmarie Eastes-Schutte shared her story of a home attack on her smallholding in South Africa's North West with the Daily Caller. In 2009, she and her husband, Koos Schutte, had just arrived home when three men — one armed with a pistol — ambushed them. She hid in a nearby building and tried to call her father but was in too much shock to connect the call. When the noise subsided, she stepped outside — only to be met by gunfire. Trump Announces Trade Deal and Drops Plans to Revoke Chinese Student Visas . . . President Donald Trump says the U.S. has reached a trade deal with China and is ditching plans to revoke Chinese student visas. "Our deal with China is done, subject to final approval with President Xi [Jinping] and me," Trump wrote on Truth Social Wednesday. "Full magnets, and any necessary rare earths, will be supplied, up front, by China. Likewise, we will provide to China what was agreed to, including Chinese students using our colleges and universities (which has always been good with me!)." Daily Signal

Protesters in Omaha, Nebraska, hurled rocks and jumped on the front bumper of an ICE vehicle participating in a raid of a meatpacking plant. Hundreds more demonstrators gathered downtown later in the day. The protest was coordinated by a workers rights group and the League of United Latin American Citizens, a Hispanic civil rights organization. Deadlocked Jury Throws Harvey Weinstein Retrial Into Chaos After Partial Verdict . . . A New York jury on Wednesday delivered a mixed verdict in Harvey Weinstein's sexual assault retrial, finding the former Hollywood mogul guilty of one count while acquitting him of another. The jury found Weinstein guilty of forcibly performing oral sex on former "Project Runway" production assistant Miriam Haley in 2006, but acquitted him of criminal sexual assault against former model Kaja Sokola. They remain deadlocked on third-degree rape charges related to actress Jessica Mann, who testified that Weinstein had raped her in a Manhattan hotel room in 2013. Daily Wire
Brian Wilson dead at 82 . . . Brian Wilson, the brilliant musician who codified the California teen lifestyle in a series of '60s hits by his band the Beach Boys, has died. He was 82. In a post shared on Instagram, his family announced Wilson's death. "We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away," they wrote. "We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world." Variety
