Don't Look Now, but Putin Is Messing with NATO

On the menu today: I hate to send you into Memorial Day weekend with ominous news, but Russian border guards are removing Estonia's border-marker buoys from the Narva River separating Russia and the NATO member country. That's a pretty big provocation that occurred Wednesday evening Washington time, and as far as I can tell, as of the writing of this newsletter Friday morning, no one in the U.S. government has said a single word about it publicly. Meanwhile, President Biden and Vice President Harris are skipping a June conference on helping Ukraine to attend a Hollywood fundraiser featuring George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jimmy Kimmel. Hey, priorities, man. And shortly after you read this, Biden will head to Delaware for his weekend getaway. Read to the end!
