LOCAL WEATHER ALERT

Storms cause power outages to more than 1 million homes in Md., Va.


More than a million homes and businesses lost electricity Friday night across Maryland and Virginia as a fierce line of thunderstorms swept across the region. At least one death may be attributed to the storm, initial reports indicated, and utilities indicated electricity may take days to restore.
