REUTERS/Stringer  Middle East An Israeli strike killed at least three journalists and wounded several others as they slept in guesthouses in southern Lebanon, in what Beirut declared a war crime. Israel's military said it killed a Hamas commander who took part in the October 7, 2023 assault on southern Israel and also worked for the UN aid agency in the Gaza Strip. In the West Bank city of Tubas, the Palestinian Authority has been rounding up militants who are spoiling for a fight with Israel and challenging its own rule, seeking to show it can help shape the future for Palestinians after the war in Gaza. US election Donald Trump has nearly erased Democrats' longstanding advantage among Hispanic men, according to an analysis of Reuters/Ipsos polling, but his gains have been offset by increased support for Kamala Harris among white women. Trump and Harris are taking a detour from barnstorming the battleground states with stops in Texas, which hasn't backed a Democratic president since 1976.  Republicans and Democrats are working out how to reach voters in storm-torn North Carolina.
