IMPORTANCE:
*While Universities have long been a bastion of leftism, it is a dangerous trend that extremist Professors who teach biased, and much condemned alternative interpretations of history are being given the chance to indoctrinate at prominent institutions.
*BLM activists are up-in-arms over tenure being denied in this particular case, despite the unfortunate decision of a five-year term of employment being offered anyway. If you oppose lies being taught to students, it is somehow branded as some sort of nefarious conservative conspiracy.
*Prominent and widely respected American historians including Gordon S. Wood, James M. McPherson, Sean Wilentz, Victoria Bynum and James Oakes even wrote a letter to The New York Times previously expressing grave concern that this puts ideology before historical fact.
The Major Point:
While America does not have a perfect history, Autry can refute the false characterization that we should be ashamed of our past. Students are now in danger of being brainwashed with a politicized and wrongly slanted view of our history. It is vital to keep these sorts of malicious lies out of the classroom, and to keep so-called historians who teach them away from students who should be taught factual history.
