| Dear Diogenes: Sorry for the delay in sending out this email blast. Since Wednesday, I've been in Australia giving multiple talks and doing media interviews, which we'll be posting soon. I was struck by how misinformed many Australians are about their own country—both about the fact that their violent crime rate is much higher than that of the United States and about how past gun control laws have actually affected Australia's crime and suicide rates (for graphs available here). Here's one interview I did with Topher Field, a well-known Australian podcaster. We'll be posting more interviews shortly. For those in Australia, I will give an academic talk at the Australian National University on Monday at noon, presenting our research on active shooting attacks—an especially timely topic in light of the recent Bondi Beach attack. On Sunday evening, I will also be giving another talk in Sydney. We have also posted our annual report with detailed data on mass public shootings in the United States, now updated to cover the period from 1998 through 2025. In addition, please take a look at our new research documenting the strong left-wing political biases of AI chatbots when they analyze crime and gun control. My two most recent op-eds examine Democrats' arguments for shutting down funding for the Department of Homeland Security, published at RealClearPolitics, and compare the Trump and Obama administrations' records on ICE errors—such as accidentally detaining U.S. citizens—in the New York Post. My New York Post op-eds on enforcement errors and the high crime rates among illegal aliens have sparked discussion on The Truth with Lisa Booth, Wisconsin's Vicki McKenna Show, Virginia's WINA, San Diego's KCBQ, The Drew Mariani Show, and more. My Wall Street Journal op-ed on the Hawaii gun-free zone case has also continued to draw attention, leading to a television interview on Real America's Voice and radio interviews with DC's WMAL, Las Vegas's Alan Stock Show, Alaska's Michael Duke Show, and Utah's KNRS. A crazy news story that I recently came across is from Charlottesville, Virginia. The city had a very successful use of video cameras to solve a murder and multiple missing person cases (including one with a young child), but the city stopped the program because of fear that ICE might use the video footage to track down illegal aliens with criminal records. Whatever one thinks of the privacy issues with cameras, the city only seemed concerned about the privacy of illegals with criminal records. With all the discussion about how the murder rate in the US is plummeting to a record low, I wanted to remind people that earlier last year leftist groups were predicting that Trump's policies would make crime worse. Finally, congressional Democrats as part of their requirements to restore funding for the Department of Homeland Security are demanding that ICE agents be banned from court houses or polling places. Are Illegals Voting? Why not allow ICE to pick up Illegals charged with crimes? Our list of defensive gun uses by people legally carrying guns in public that got media attention illustrates 39 cases from May. If you haven't already seen it, please watch our new video with John Stossel, which covers our new research showing errors in the FBI's active shooting reports. For those who haven't already done so, if you would like to help us get the information out to others, please consider posting reviews of our website on the Google business page that we have set up. The more positive reviews people post, the more Google will feature our webpage in their searches. Thank you very much! We need help getting our research out. It doesn't do us any good to do all this work if people don't see it. If you have friends you think might find our emails interesting, please encourage them to sign up by sending them the link here. Thank you very much. Again, we need your support to continue doing the work that we do. I don't think that there is any organization with as small of a budget that regularly produces as much as we do. Thank you very much! . Research . Op-eds . Recent Talks .
