The Blackburn Report: American Taxpayers Are Fed Up With Fraud

Following the fraud schemes in Minnesota, Tennesseans and Americans are becoming more and more concerned about the widespread fraud taking place in our country. The Government Accountability Office estimates that the federal government loses between $233 billion and $521 billion to fraud every single year. The American people expect the government to work for law-abiding citizens—not criminals. Ensuring these scammers face justice is crucial to restoring trust and accountability. We should all be grateful that President Trump is working to root out this widespread fraud. To support his efforts, I recently introduced the Fraud Accountability Act. My legislation would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to deport and denaturalize people who come to America to steal from our citizens. 	Navigating complex statutes, regulations, and internal policies can be confusing, leaving veterans unsure of what to expect or what questions to ask about the resources available to them. To ensure veterans are informed of the rights they have under current law I introduced the Veterans’ Bill of Rights Act. This would make certain America’s veterans are clearly informed of their existing rights regarding VA health care, benefits, and services. Read more here.
For years, I have worked to reauthorize the National Quantum Initiative. To ensure that America will dominate the global quantum race, I introduced the National Quantum Initiative Reauthorization Act. This legislation would reauthorize quantum programs to accelerate innovative quantum research in Tennessee, protect our national security, and advance President Trump’s goal of American quantum supremacy. In Tennessee, we are well prepared to lead the revolution in quantum development, and our state will help ensure America does not fall behind adversaries like Communist China. 	On Tuesday, I spoke at a rally to protect women in sports at the Supreme Court. As President Trump stands up for fairness, safety, and equal opportunity in women’s athletics, it has been incredible to see states like West Virginia and Idaho codify protections for young women and girls. Establishing one rulebook for artificial intelligence will ensure Americans are protected from the unintended consequences of this emerging technology while unleashing AI innovation.
