Senator: Credit cap can allow people to live American dream Lawmakers are introducing new credit card legislation, as Trump is pushing for a one-year, 10% cap on credit card interest rates. Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., says it would enable people the ability to live the American dream.
"This is something that we're doing to impact the cost of living," Marshall told "The Hill." "Unfortunately, they (Americans) are spending $300 a month on interest on credit cards and swipe fees as well. That's come about because there are two credit card companies, a handful of banks that control 80% of the market, so we want to put this cap at 10% on the interest rates." Watch the interview > |
