Hostage Families to Nobel Committee: 'With Momentous Urgency, Award President Trump the Peace Prize' . . . Families of hostages still held in Gaza — together with relatives of those already returned — urged the Norwegian Nobel Committee on Monday to award President Donald J. Trump the Nobel Peace Prize, saying with "a profound sense of momentous urgency" that his determination "made possible what many said was impossible" and that "in this past year, no leader or organization has contributed more to peace around the world than President Trump." "From the moment of his inauguration, he brought us light through our darkest times," families said. Breitbart
Trump is widely held, even by Republicans, to be a"transactional" president who is in this for himself. But I have no doubt, based on his statements and actions, that he genuinely cares about these hostages. Among other things.

'RALLY, RAGE, & RESIST': Pro-Hamas Student Groups Plan Nationwide Protests on Oct. 7 Anniversary . . . Anti-Israel student groups have started this semester with a whimper, keeping low profiles without major protests or unrest. That could change Tuesday as campus radicals plan to mark Oct. 7's second anniversary with demonstrations planned across the country. Should those demonstrations turn destructive, the response will provide a window into just how much the Trump administration's crackdown on campus anti-Semitism has changed the behavior of college administrators. Trump open to invoking the Insurrection Act . . . President Donald Trump on Monday said he would consider using the Insurrection Act to deploy the military if federal courts prevented him from deploying the National Guard to protect federal buildings and conduct law enforcement operations. The comments came a day after a federal judge blocked the president from sending National Guard troops to Portland, Oregon, which Trump claims has been taken over by left-wing "domestic terrorists." 5 Supreme Court Cases That Could Significantly Help or Hinder Trump's Agenda . . . The Supreme Court hasn't yet determined all the cases it will hear regarding legal challenges to President Donald Trump's executive actions. But oral arguments have been scheduled for several cases involving trade and separation of powers when it comes to so-called independent agencies within the executive branch. Meanwhile, a decision on a fast-tracked "emergency docket" case is still pending. The Daily Signal
The Cat-Loving Republican in NYC's Mayoral Race Who Just Won't Quit . . . Curtis Sliwa has six cats, wears a red beret and is running to be the next mayor of New York City. Many wish he wouldn't. President Trump has dismissed the Republican candidate as "not exactly ready for prime time." Billionaire Bill Ackman has urged him to quit the race "for the good of NYC." Sliwa, trailing in the polls, says he gets calls from people telling him it's time to go. He isn't budging. "Curtis Sliwa never dropped out of anything in his life," he said in front of a Manhattan subway station recently. "Any questions?" Wall Street Journal
ON THE HUNT: Texas Rep. Shakes Up Senate Race . . . Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas, entered the Lone Star State's 2026 Senate GOP primary on Monday, altering the dynamics of Sen. John Cornyn's reelection bid. The two-term Hunt, who has represented his Houston-area district since 2023, kicked off his campaign with a three-minute video full of testimonies from friends, family, and colleagues. Daily Signal
Cotton, Cruz Sen. Cotton Slam Judge for Would-Be Kavanaugh Assassin 8-Year Sentence . . . Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) suggested that a Biden-appointed judge should be investigated or impeached after Nicholas Roske, who attempted to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2022, received an eight-year prison sentence. Cotton criticized Judge Deborah Boardman for having sentenced Roske, who now identifies as a transgender female and uses the name "Sophie," to 97 months in prison. Cotton noted that Roske "should be in prison for life, or at least a lot longer than eight years." Breitbart
Pressure grows on Virginia Democratic candidate to quit after violent text messages . . . Pressure is mounting on Virginia Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones to drop out of his race following leaked text messages in which he openly talks about violence directed toward former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert (R). A chorus of Republicans in and out of Virginia are calling on Jones to drop out, including President Trump and Vice President Vance. The Republican gubernatorial nominee, Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, quickly jumped on the news, rolling out an ad tying her opponent, former Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D), to Jones. The Hill
I don't think many of us would survive the release of our test messages. But these things are pretty bad, even as far as that goes. There's likely more coming, and he'll be out of the race by the end of the week.
New Alleged Violent Rhetoric Unearthed From Democrat AG Candidate, This Time About Cops . . . Republican Virginia Delegate Carrie Coyner alleged in an interview that Democratic Virginia Attorney General nominee Jay Jones made a violent remark about police officers during a 2020 phone call. During an interview Monday, Coyner alleged Jones said in a 2020 conversation that if a few police officers died, it might prevent killings of other people, according to a Virginia Scope report. Jones denied making such a comment, the outlet reported. The Daily Caller
Ocasio-Cortez tells supporters to 'laugh at' Stephen Miller's 'insecure masculinity' . . . "The point is that they are scraping and grasping at straws because they have nothing else. Laugh at them, Stephen Miller is a clown! I've never seen that guy in real life, but he looks like he's, like, [4 feet, 10 inches tall]. He looks like he is angry about the fact that he's [4 feet, 10 inches] and he has taken that anger out on any other population possible. Like, laugh at them," Ocasio-Cortez said on Instagram live Sunday. The Hill

Supreme Court hears arguments on whether states can ban conversion therapy for LBGTQ+ kids . . . The Supreme Court will hear arguments in its latest LGBTQ+ rights case Tuesday, weighing the constitutionality of bans passed by nearly half of U.S. states on the practice known as conversion therapy for children. The justices are hearing a lawsuit from a Christian counselor challenging a Colorado law that prohibits therapy aimed at changing sexual orientation or gender identity. Kaley Chiles, with support from President Donald Trump's Republican administration, argues the law violates her freedom of speech by barring her from offering voluntary, faith-based therapy for kids. Amazon Prime Dragged For Scrubbing Guns From 'James Bond' Artwork . . . Amazon Prime Video is backtracking after fan outrage erupted over its decision to digitally erase guns from James Bond promotional artwork — a move critics mocked as absurd. The images in question featured actors who played the Bond character, including Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. But rather than holding guns in the images, all of them stand awkwardly and empty-handed. The company's revised artwork now features images from the movies themselves, though none of the promotional images show 007 with a weapon. Daily Wire
