Donald Trump's Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg began talks in Kyiv on security and sanctions against Russia after the US president said he would send Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine.
The US Justice Department unit charged with defending against legal challenges to signature Trump administration policies - such as restricting birthright citizenship and slashing funding to Harvard University - has lost nearly two-thirds of its staff, according to a list seen by Reuters.
Federal officials defended Trump's escalating campaign to deport immigrants in the US illegally, including a California farm raid that left one worker dead, and said the administration would appeal a ruling to halt some of its more aggressive tactics.
