US cities brace for more protests as parts of Los Angeles placed under curfew . . . Several U.S. cities braced for protests on Wednesday against President Donald Trump's sweeping immigration raids, as parts of the country's second largest city Los Angeles spent the night under curfew in an effort to quell five days of unrest. The Governor of Texas, Republican Greg Abbott, said he will deploy the National Guard this week, ahead of planned protests. Protesters and police in Austin clashed on Monday. Reuters
Newsom, in California address, says Trump purposely 'fanned the flames' of L.A. protests . . . Gov. Gavin Newsom on Tuesday night accused President Trump of intentionally fanning the flames of the Los Angeles protests and "pulling a military dragnet across" the city endangering peaceful protesters and targeting hardworking immigrant families. "Donald Trump's government isn't protecting our communities — they're traumatizing our communities," Newsom said. "And that seems to be the entire point." Los Angeles Times
It would seem Newsom is fanning right back so he can take up residence one day where Trump lives.
Federal Judge Denies Newsom's Request to Restrict National Guard in LA . . . A federal judge denied California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom's request to immediately limit President Donald Trump's use of California National Guard troops in Los Angeles. Newson asked U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer to limit the enforcement activities of the federal troops to the "immediate vicinity" of federal property while Newsom's lawsuit against the Trump administration over the deployment of thousands of National Guard troops to LA proceeds. ICE prepares full assault on five Democrat cities as LA goes into lockdown amid immigration riots . . . Donald Trump is set to deploy ICE tactical units to five Democrat-run cities amid the riots in Los Angeles as Gavin Newsom nearly broke into tears while blaming his administration for inciting the California chaos. The military-style units are set to storm New York City, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia and northern Virginia, MSNBC reported. Four of those five are heavily blue cities, while northern Virginia contains the Democrat enclave of Alexandria. Daily Mail

Trump announced Tuesday that his administration will restore the original names of several U.S. Army bases that were renamed during the Biden presidency, calling the previous changes unnecessary and politically driven."For a little breaking news," Trump said during a speech at Fort Bragg, "we are also going to be restoring the names to Fort Pickett, Fort Hood, Fort Gordon, Fort Rucker, Fort Polk, Fort A.P. Four former staffers in the Joe Biden White House will voluntarily take questions from congressional investigators regarding the apparent cognitive decline of the 46th president. Former deputy chief of staff Annie Tomasini and Neera Tanden, the former director of the Domestic Policy Council. Anthony Bernal, former assistant to the president and senior adviser to first lady Jill Biden, and Ashley Williams, the former special assistant to the president and deputy director of Oval Office Operations, will all appear. "The woke corporations have been eager to raise prices on everybody and employ as many illegals as possible—but they don't want to pay Americans a good wage," Hawley told The Daily Signal. Nearly 150 Democrats Oppose Bill Banning Noncitizens From Voting In Nation's Capital . . . The GOP-led House passed on Tuesday a bill to prohibit noncitizens from voting in local Washington, D.C., elections, overcoming the majority of Democrats who voted against the measure. A total of 210 Republicans and 56 Democrats supported the legislation, which bars foreign nationals from voting in local contests in the nation's capital and repeals a measure passed by the D.C. Council in 2022 that allowed it in the first place. Another 148 Democrats voted against it. Daily Wire

Simone Biles apologized to Riley Gaines on Tuesday for their online spat over trans-identifying males in women's sports, the Olympic gymnast adding that she believes the current women's sports system is "flawed." The two athletes clashed on Friday when Biles attacked Gaines seemingly out of the blue, calling the former University of Kentucky swimmer a "sore loser" and telling her to "bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male." The bill to repeal the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which the Biden administration used to throw peaceful pro-lifers in jail, passed the House Judiciary Committee in a 13-10 vote Tuesday. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, who sponsored the bill to end the law abused by the Biden Department of Justice to arrest, prosecute, and jail pro-life demonstrators, has fought for months to bring his legislation to a vote. NY School District Distributes State Exam Prep That Accuses Israel of 'Terrorism' . . . A New York school district distributed a study guide for a state-issued exam that described Zionism as "extreme nationalism" and accused Israel of "terrorism." The watchdog group StopAntisemitism posted a photo of the study guide, which was meant to prepare 10th graders for New York's Regents Exam, and called it "straight out of a Hamas playbook." She posted an ominous three-minute social media video on Tuesday to sound the alarm on the consequences of a nuclear attack following her recent visit to Hiroshima, Japan. The Chinese Communist Party has transformed Harvard University into "a fertile human capital recruiting ground," leveraging multimillion-dollar investments in the Ivy League school to enlist professors and students in "projects that involve sensitive and advanced technologies," a new investigation into the CCP's influence operations on college campuses shows. "Harvard scholars contribute to the PRC's military-industrial complex" through cooperation with Chinese universities, according to a report from Strategy Risks, an analytical firm that focuses on China. CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten said Tuesday that foreign-born voters in the United States have swung toward the Republican Party on immigration by 40 points since 2020. Immigrant voters have swung harder to the Right than any other demographic, Enten said. The US and China say they have agreed in principle to a framework for de-escalating trade tensions between the world's two biggest economies. US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the deal should result in restrictions on rare earth minerals and magnets being resolved. Both sides said they would now take the plan to their presidents - Donald Trump and Xi Jinping - for approval. BBC

The New York Times confirmed Sunday that Hamas operated a tunnel beneath the European Gaza Hospital weeks after casting doubt on its existence. Instead of condemning Hamas for using a hospital as a terror base, however, the paper framed the tunnel as a matter of clashing narratives. ABC News is parting ways with veteran correspondent Terry Moran, two days after he posted a missive on X calling President Donald Trump and deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller "world-class haters." The network said Tuesday afternoon that Moran's contract was about to expire, and "based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision to not renew." Arkansas Ends Food Stamps for Junk Food . . . Arkansas received approval Tuesday from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to ban the purchase of both soft drinks and candy with food stamps. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins has signed a waiver enabling Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders to ban unhealthy foods from Arkansas' Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the formal name for food stamps. Arkansas joins Nebraska in getting a waiver from the Trump administration to combat America's health crisis that way. Daily Signal

Cows Join Anti-ICE Protests in California . . . Animal services officials in a California city are asking residents to report any cow sightings after someone set about 60 cattle loose. City of Antioch Animal Services said on social media that officers responded to a report of cows on the loose at about 2 a.m. Sunday and they arrived to find about 60 cows, calves and bulls had been released from their pasture. Animal services, police, the owner of the animals and local residents spent hours rounding up loose bovines around Gentrytown Park, but officials cautioned that some of the cattle remained on the lam.
