Instead, they're struggling to keep up with the city's high costs, and having an even harder time seeing a future in the city. Zohran Mamdani, New York's unlikely new Democratic candidate for mayor, ran on a socialist platform promising to uplift New Yorkers with rent freezes, city-owned grocery stores, and free bus rides. Jill Biden's 'work husband' runs for cover as privilege protection crumbles . . . Anthony Bernal, the former advisor to former first lady Jill Biden, is refusing to appear before the House Oversight Committee to be questioned about the alleged cover-up of former President Joe Biden's mental decline. Chair James Comer, R-Ky., said in a press release Tuesday that Bernal was refusing to appear on June 26 for a transcribed interview, as part of the committee's investigation into the Biden cover-up, and also the potentially unauthorized use of autopen for executive actions and pardons. California found in violation of Title IX in clash with Trump officials over transgender athletes . . . The Trump administration has found that the California Department of Education and the state's high school sports federation violated civil rights law by allowing transgender girls to compete on girls sports teams. The federal Education Department announced the finding Wednesday and proposed a resolution that would require California to bar transgender women from women's sports and strip transgender athletes of records, titles and awards. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ludicrously claimed victory over Israel and said he "delivered a hand slap to America's face" during his first address to his nation following the cease-fire. Khamenei said he was "victorious" in the 12-day war despite reportedly losing years of progress on its nuclear programs, including scientists killed and the "obliteration" of three nuclear enrichment facilities. Trump is considering former Fed governor Kevin Warsh and National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett, according to people familiar with the matter. North Korea is opening a beach resort that its leader Kim Jong Un hopes will boost tourism in the secretive communist regime, state media reports.
