A suicide bomber in Syria opened fire then detonated an explosive vest inside a Greek Orthodox church filled with people praying on Sunday, killing at least 22 and wounding 63 others, state media reported. The attack took place in Dweil'a on the outskirts of Damascus inside the Mar Elias Church. Britain-based war monitor the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said there were at least 19 peopled killed and dozens wounded, but did not give exact numbers. FedEx founder Fred Smith dies at 80 . . . The company that was started in the early 1970s became much relied on and now averages 17 million shipments per business day. Smith, who made his home in Memphis, Tennessee, where the company is based, was born in Marks, Mississippi, on August 11, 1944, per the Daily Memphian. He was also a Marine Corps veteran. "The inspiration for FedEx came to Smith when he was a student at Yale University. He wrote a paper about overnight, reliable delivery in the digital age. Czech family of three is accused of running a fake dental clinic . . . Czech police say they have detained three suspects who allegedly treated patients in a fake dental clinic without a proper licence or professional training. Police in a statement Wednesday said dozens of people visited the clinic after the family of three opened it at their home in the town of Havlíčkův Brod, some 100 kilometers (60 miles) southeast of Prague, two years ago.
