The soldiers were killed as they were evacuating wounded people on the outskirts of the southern village of Yater, the army said.  World powers met in Paris aiming to raise at least 500 million euros in urgent humanitarian aid for Lebanon and push for a ceasefire, but with the US focused on its own efforts, diplomats said they expect little concrete progress. United States Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris heads to the battleground of Georgia for a star-studded rally. The latest polls in the state show Republican rival Donald Trump with a slight lead. Today, he is due to hold rallies in Arizona and Nevada.  Officials in the battleground states are concerned that some Republican poll watchers could disrupt, delay and undermine confidence in the election, and potentially lay the groundwork to overturn the result if Harris wins. In other news A plane downed in Sudan's North Darfur state had Russian crew members and was being used by the army to resupply the besieged city of al-Fashir, according to the opposing faction and documents it said were found in the wreckage. The US has seen evidence that North Korea has sent 3,000 troops to Russia, a move that could mark a significant escalation in the Ukraine war. REUTERS/David Ryder Boeing factory workers voted to reject a contract offer and continue a more than five-week strike, in a blow to new CEO Kelly Ortberg. The vote was 64% in opposition to the deal, which offered a 35% rise in wages over four years. The European Space Agency is in talks with SpaceX about the possibility of Elon Musk's space venture joining an international charter designed to reduce a growing swarm of debris in space, Director General Josef Aschbacher told Reuters. The EU Court of Justice, Europe's top court, ruled in favor of Intel, ending a nearly two-decade-long fight between the US chipmaker and EU regulators who had said it had tried to thwart a rival. McDonald's scrambled to contain the damage from an E. coli outbreak linked to Quarter Pounder burgers that has killed one person and sickened nearly 50 others, as it pulled the menu item from restaurants across a dozen US states.
