J.D. Vance poised to take Trumpism into the future

Senator J.D. Vance, recently named as Donald Trump's vice-presidential pick, will be viewed by many Republican Party faithful as the newly anointed inheritor of the former US president's Make America Great Again movement.

Conservative commentator Erick Erickson describes the MAGA agenda as a loose form of economic populism that focuses on the middle class and favors more government involvement in the economy while seeking to avoid foreign alliances and entanglements.
