House and Senate - SEX Slush Fund
Congress paid out $17 million in settlements
By: Anonymous
I find it kind of strange that Trump apparently used his money to pay off a female years ago and now the crooked AG of NY, who has possibly used tax payer funds as pay off, is going after Trump. OF COURSE, it is political. Anyone with an IQ above zero knows it is a political witch hunt ….well, some of the democrats say they do not believe it is political which indicates an IQ of minus zero?
NOW, the strange thing is that there is a tax payer slush fund that has been used to pay off persons that accused senators of sexual harassment. STRANGE of how that list of names was going to be released to the public never happened? Could the release have possibly been squashed for political expediency?
The House and Senate Slush Fund is a fund created by the Congressional Accountability Act of 1995. The fund is used to pay settlements for sexual harassment and other workplace disputes on Capitol Hill. The money for the fund comes from the United States Treasury, and it is not subject to the same restrictions on personal spending as individual campaign committees.
The fund has been criticized by some for being a "slush fund" that allows lawmakers to use taxpayer money to cover up their own wrongdoing. However, others argue that the fund is necessary to protect victims of sexual harassment and other workplace abuses.
In 2017, the fund paid out more than $17 million in settlements. The exact number of settlements is unknown, but it is estimated that there have been over 200 since the fund was created.
In 2019, a bill was introduced in Congress that would require lawmakers to personally pay for any settlements they agree to. The bill, called the Stop Settlement Slush Funds Act, has not yet been passed.
