Please Support Our End-of-Year Appeal

Dear Friends,

I said sash (not hash, which, I admit, was undercooked). And I said it for the obvious reason, as I do every Christmas Eve, as today is: I heard a clatter on the lawn and thought it just might be the Jolly Round One.

Wishful thinking.

Also wishful, maybe: Our effort at National Review Institute to raise $250,000 to support the NRI’s vital – to conservatism and our principles – programs and fellows.

Yep, 250 grand.

We’re not halfway to our goal, so we really need your help. Really. Otherwise, all that thinking will be wishful.

Over the last two weeks, NRI fellows have been making the case for why your helping matters. Obviously to us. But yes, to you too. Discover what they are saying about NRI and why it merits your support:

Rick Brookhiser explained the benefits to the conservative movement of NRI’s Regional Fellows Program.

Kevin Williamson highlighted NRI’s exceptional writer-training effort, better known as the William F. Buckley Fellowship in Political Journalism .

Jay Nordlinger explained how important defending and advancing the Buckley Legacy is to NRI’s mission.

Similarly, Kathryn Jean Lopez talked up WFB’s passion for gratitude.

Jonah Goldberg offered a broad look at the breadth of NRI’s programs.

David French talked about the importance of conservative institutions in the battle for America’s culture.

I think they all make powerful cases. Read one, some, or all and I am sure you will come to the same conclusion.

And then we hope the conclusion of making a generous contribution, which you can do here. It makes sense, this being the year’s end, to make sure you do your tax-deductible giving before 2017 has vanished right? Right.

And here’s an extra reason for why now: Our financial guru (and a few generous donors) tells us that the new federal tax law (check with your accountant!) makes it advantageous for some people, maybe even you, to make an extra contribution this year!

I hope they’re right! Because we do indeed need some extra kindness from those who love the Buckley Legacy.

I also hope you and your family – and all the faithful friends who have been so near to NRI – will have a very . . .

Merry Christmas .

Best,

Jack Fowler
