And They Were Sore Afraid

Dear Friend,

The shepherds had their reasons. But they, like we, need always remember to be people of Hope. The angels rightly counseled: Fear not.

Our founder, echoing our Creator, also counseled -- again despair. Americans, as a special people, must embrace the generous blessings of Liberty bestowed upon them, like no other.

This image below appeared on the back cover of the 1956 Christmas issue of National Review. We share it as the season reaches its height.

Today is the Eve of a joyous day. On behalf of Rich Lowry and all our colleagues, I wish you and yours all Liberty's blessings, and a Merry Christmas, and a Happy Hanukkah.

Peace on earth,

Jack Fowler
