| Dear Friend, Please join us on Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Manchester for National Review's "Quadrennial New Hampshire GOP Debate Night-a-palooza." The Ballroom doors of the Radisson Hotel Manchester Downtown (700 Elm Street) will open at 5PM, and starting at 6PM, well, what a night awaits. As we have done in 2008 and 2012, NR editors (Rich Lowry and Charlie Cooke are definites) and some smart-alecky buddies will gather -- with 400 good-humored NR subscribers and NRO visitors hailing from the Greater Manchester Metropolitan Area -- for lots of laughs and lots of insights. The formal festivities will begin with an NR Editors' Political Panel from 6PM to 7:10PM, followed by the Ricochet smash trio of Jonah Goldberg, Rob Long, and John Podhoretz -- they'll assemble for a pre-debate "GLoP" panel from 7:20 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. Then we'll watch the debate on the big-screen tv in the Radisson Ballroom, and after the last candidate bloviates at 10:30PM, "GLoP" will re-take the stage for a post-debate assessment from about 10:30 P.M. until 11:30 P.M. (By the way, every word uttered will be captured for eternity and broadcast by the amazing technical wizards at Ricochet.) The event including food is free. But it's limited (to the first 400 people). There is parking available, but that's between you and the Radisson. As for drinks -- there will be a bar setup (we can't buy everything, so you'll have to handle your own brewskis). To reserve a spot, sign up here. No sign-up, no admit. And even though the event truly is free, you're not going to be a complete mooch, are you? Figure on spotting NR a few sawbucks as the very worthwhile cost of an exceptional evening. See you in Manchester on the 6th! Jack Fowler Publisher National Review

A left-wing writer and racial-justice activist who has claimed that American society was "instituted by racist ideas and maintained by racist policies" published a black history book for kids earlier this year that appears to be filled with content plagiarized from other sources, according to a review of the book by National Review . Confronted with the apparent plagiarism, the book’s publisher said it would be pulled from circulation pending an investigation. Rann Miller, a New Jersey-based activist and educator, published Resistance Stories from Black History for Kids in March. According to the book, it is designed to be a "place of entry" into the history of the African people so readers will be "empowered to fight" injustices in the world. Miller, a former teacher who has both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Rutgers University, also writes opinion pieces for the Philadelphia Inquirer , the Progressive Magazine, and education websites
