Sean in Israel
To watch and read about the threat facing Israel is one thing, but to see it in person gives your a far different perspective. Nearly 3,000 rockets have been fired into Israel since tensions rose a few weeks ago.  If not for Israel's Iron Dome, with a 90% success rate, it's hard to imagine how much damage and destruction we would be witnessing. Standing close to the Gaza border, there's a playground.  Life seems to go on as normal, until you realize it's surrounded by bomb shelters.  This is life every day now for Israelis trying to defend themselves. It's difficult to understand much of the moral ambiguity on this issue.  Around the world and in the United States, this is a moment for moral clarity on Israel's right to defend itself and the reality of the threat it is facing from a terrorist organization which exists for the purposes of destroying Israel. If 3000 rockets were fired at America, I'd want our government to take out the enemy, decimate their infrastructure and make sure they are not capable of doing it again in the future.  That's what Israel is trying to achieve.  The rest of the world has a harder time understanding what's truly happening and why destroying Hamas' infrastructure and tunnels once and for all is so crucial to Israel's future peace and survival.

Another Failed Cease-Fire
The latest seven-hour truce came after Israel received harsh criticism for striking a target outside in U.N. school in Southern Gaza.  IDF Capt. Eytan Buchman says the target was three Palestinian militants who were on a motorcycle driving past the school.  But the U.N. decided that was too close for its own comfort, as the nearby school had about 3,000 Palestinians seeking shelter, including some civilians out buying ice cream when the air strike occurred. This is a "moral outrage and a criminal attack," according to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.  Meanwhile, our own State Department harshly condemned the air strike as appalling and "disgraceful."  Even Valerie Jarrett took the timeto admonish Israel for the airstrike.  The U.S. government is now calling for a "a full and prompt investigation of this incident." Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu vows that Israel will continue its operations, reassessing after Hamas' tunnel networks are destroyed.  Netanyahu says that they are deliberately ignoring the fact that terrorist groups do not honor ceasefires, and in fact Hamas has broken every single one. Certainly it's not for a lack of trying, how can Israel be expected to take all of these attacks while trying to negotiate a cease-fire?

The Crisis On The Border
Breitbart got hold of a leaked report from the Customs and Border Protection agency. It reveals that the crisis on our borders isn't isolated to just Central American children fleeing violence. Illegal immigrants from more than 75 countries have made their way into the United States across our porous border between 2010 and July 2014. This includes people from places like Syria and Yemen and other Middle Eastern countries, as well as North Africa. Even more significant is the fact that, "At least 71 individuals from the three nations affected by the current Ebola outbreak have either turned themselves in or been caught attempting to illegally enter the U.S. by U.S. authorities between January 2014 and July 2014." The crisis at our border is putting our nation at risk but Washington is too dumb to stop it.
