Obama Returns From Vacation President Obama is taking a break from his luxurious vacation at Martha's Vineyard, returning to Washington for high-level, unspecified meetings. It's not hard to pick a topic of concern whether it be the continuing tensions in Ferguson, Missouri or the humanitarian crisis in Iraq. Attorney General Eric Holder is supposed to brief the president on the latest from Ferguson, Missouri. Early this morning, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon called in the National Guard to restore peace and order to the community. Last night, before the newly imposed midnight curfew, police and protesters clashed in yet another round of riots. CNN reported gun shots and projectiles being aimed at law enforcement. According to Capt. Ron Johnson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, things spiraled out of control last night with a shooting around 8:30pm, and apparently eight people were seen with guns. As of early this morning, at least three people had been shot and there have been a handful of arrests. Looting of businesses also escalated, with McDonalds employees reportedly locking themselves in a storeroom for protection. School, which was supposed to start today in Ferguson, has been postponed...(continue reading) Outrageous: Rob Reiner In a rant on Politicking with Larry King, liberal Hollywood director Rob Reiner went on a rant about the Tea Party. He compared the Tea Party to Hamas and the inability to negotiate with extremists. Reiner said, "Anytime you're dealing with an extreme group, you cannot negotiate with them, and the way to do it is to eliminate it. With the Tea Party, you have to go through political thing, you have to wait till 2020 to redistrict, but that is really tough stuff." Perhaps Rob Reiner should consider the extremism of his comparison: Americans concerned about the size and direction of our country are comparable to a horribly brutal terrorist organization? This type of rhetoric won't get us anywhere in this country, so long as liberals like Rob Reiner are unwilling to try and understand the concerns of Tea Party conservatives.
