Does Obama Care About The Border? This week Barack Obama will be traveling to Texas, but he can't be bothered to visit the border and seeing the crisis he's helped to create with his very eyes. Just 250 miles from the border, Obama will be fundraising for Democrats. Texas Governor Rick Perry spoke to this issue over the weekend. He told ABC's "This Week" that he doesn't believe Obama "particularly cares whether or not the border of the United States is secure." Perry said, "They either are inept or don't care. I have to believe that when you do not respond in any way, that you are either inept or you have some ulterior motive." It's hard not to agree with Perry. Ben Shapiro over at Breitbart has the damning statistics: "According to statistics provided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, President Obama has now significantly decreased the number of illegal immigrants aged under 18 deported or turned away at the border. That statistic has decreased some 488% under President Obama, from 8,143 the last year of President Bush's administration to 1,669 last year. Meanwhile, the Bush administration deported some 600 minors on average each year; Obama deported 95 last year." The New York Times reports that as many as 240,000 illegal immigrants and 52,000 minors have crossed the border just in recent months. The liberal talking point has become that these illegals are suddenly coming across the border because of a law signed by George W. Bush. Barack Obama has become the most well-traveled president in American history, taking 31 trips and spending 119 days overseas since becoming president. Then we have the family vacations. According to the Daily Caller: "In 2010, Obama flew aboard Air Force One 172 times, nearly every other day. Just the cost of flying aboard Air Force One to Obama's hometown of Chicago reportedly hovers around $180,000 per hour. In 2013 alone, Obama incurred over $7 million in flight expenses for his family vacations to Hawaii and Martha's Vineyard, as well as a trip to California to appear on the Jay Leno show." In total, the Obamas have spent over $44 million in taxpayer money on travel since 2009.
