The Virginia state Senate race to replace now-Lieutenant Gov. Ralph Northam, D, ended with a ten-vote margin separating the candidates, and now awaits a recount.
But there's one more race to determine state Senate control coming up January 21, to replace the state's new Democratic attorney general. And here's the Democratic candidate, Jennifer Wexton — in court, she put rapists in prison, and in Richmond, she'll fight Tea Partiers, who are basically the same thing:
Just…wow. It's a Democratic district, but this has some serious backfire potential.
If Republicans win either race, they'll control the state Senate (which was tied at 20 each before Northam's resignation) until its members next stand for election in 2015.
