State of the Union 2014: Gun control mostly vanishes from speech

politico.com - In a year's time, President Barack Obama's fight for gun control went from his emotional State of the Union conclusion to barely mentioned at all.

A year after making a call for his broad gun control agenda the emotional big finish, Obama devoted just two sentences to preventing gun violence. Like he did with his economic agenda, the president said he would push forward regardless of the inevitable resistance from Congress.
