The Legendary Neal Boortz Sean has continued his well-earned respite and legendary talk show host Neal Boortz filled in. He hit the ground running with his rant on government sponsored health care and didn’t stop! Here’s what he had to say. A Life For Sale I retired from talk radio earlier this year but the ideas haven’t slowed down and now, I’m about to explode. This year President Obama mentioned that health care is a right. Let me be clear, health care is not a right! Once you claim health care is a right you’re essentially claiming that you have a right to their life. Allow me to, I think the word is, disabuse you of that thought. Once you’ve claimed a right to a portion of someone’s life, how much of a right do you have? Is it ten minutes per day? Maybe you own half of someone’s life? Ahh, I get it, the government gets as much of a right to someone’s life as they need to get health care legislation. From Each According To Their Ability… As children across the country are facing the return to school, I wanted to paint a picture for you. There is one lesson about America that your children will learn the first day of school, this is how it has worked for many of America’s youth, they’re going to learn that there is no personal property protection from the whims of the political class. If you can, recall the excitement when you take your children to buy school supplies. Your kid buys the school supplies and they’re his supplies! Your kid is excited and he runs to his room to organize his supplies, place them in a little box and will show a real pride of ownership. Then, it happens. Your kid sits in his new classroom and the teacher, that union teacher, will tell all the kids to bring their school supplies to the front of the classroom and combine the supplies so if someone needs a pen or writing tablet they can have one. “Wait a minute,” your child will say, “These are my supplies!” Oh no, you’re on government property with government employees and the school supplies, which you thought were yours, are the entire classes. Your kid will hear the idea that they should all include “your fair share” of the school supplies. This is an American tragedy that continues every year at this time, namely the idea that from each according to their ability, to each according to their need. The Role of Education Woodrow Wilson spoke in front of a group of businessmen and said, “Ideally we want one class of education who receive wide-ranging broad education but we want a larger class of necessity who forego a broad education and fit themselves to perform difficult and specific manual tasks.” What we have today is a common core where we teach children that they don’t need to get the correct answer, they just need to come up with a process to get an answer, not necessarily the correct one. I have to say, as long as I have a dime, my granddaughter will never spend one day in a government school. I will move into a trailer on a rental lot in the middle of the Appalachian Mountains in order to come up with the money so that she never has to go to a public school. I want to be clear, I’m not casting all teachers into the mud pits here, but they are the number one profession that chooses to send their children to school.
