Senate passes Hurricane Sandy relief bill

Monday, January 28, 2013 6:32:52 PM Politics News Alert Senate passes Hurricane Sandy relief bill The Senate on Monday voted 62-36 to pass a $50.5 billion emergency package of relief and recovery aid, three months after Hurricane Sandy devastated coastal areas in much of the Northeast. The long-delayed storm relief package now moves on to President Obama who has said he will sign it. The House passed the bill two weeks ago after House Republicans stripped it of spending unrelated to disasters.
