Tragedy in Connecticut
Sean kicked off Friday’s show with the sickening and somber news of a school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut that left 26 people dead including 20 children. Sean was joined by Fox News reporter Rick Leventhal who was live on the scene to give updates. “I can only imagine the scene, it must be absolute horror,” began Hannity, “What is it like?” “They’ve moved everybody away from the school,” explained Leventhal, “There are many children who are crying and being rushed to a nearby fire house to meet with their parents and those kids are going to need some serious TLC now.” “I can’t get out of my head that 18 sets of parents will be informed that their kindergartner has died,” an emotional Hannity continued, “I don’t know how you ever recover from something like that.” “It’s just a great age for kids,” continued Hannity, “These kids are full of j oy and life and happiness and discovery.” You can read more about this tragic story by clicking here.

Ann Coulter and Juan Williams
Sean was joined by Ann Coulter and Juan Williams to address the sad shootings in Connecticut and what could be done to prevent this. “There is only one thing we can do in areas like this that are gun-free zones,” began Coulter, “That is concealed-carry laws that will give people pause to walk around unimpeded.” “This is a moment where you just feel like crying,” bluntly responded Williams, “I just can’t imagine dealing with this kind of tragedy.” “These are young kids and I’m sure their parents have purchased all their Christmas gifts,” lamented Sean, “I’m not sure how they get through this.” “I know we’re so polarized and angry at each other but I hope everybody in the country can stop for a second and recognize that this community needs our support in a big way.” “I don’t know if there is a single answer and, this is not political, but how do we preve nt this from ever happening again,” offered Hannity, “Maybe every school needs security.” “There are different policies that have been tried,” reiterated Coulter,” Statistics have shown that.” “We have a ton of illegal guns in this country,” countered Williams. “I have had gun carry permits in many states,” offered Hannity, “I’ve learned to shoot when I was a little kid but I never got to touch a gun until I went through safety classes.” “The conversation about guns in this country is so out of whack,” an angry Williams debated, “We’re having a conversation about safety which is good but there are some that talk about automatic weapons and such.” This tragedy will, no doubt, spark a rage of emotions and debate but there is time for that later, for now we just need to support a community in pain.
Hannity: How Do You Deal With This?
Sean spent more time on Friday reflecting on the tragedy in Connecticut. “I personally think there is plenty of time to discuss these issues but certainly school safety is at the top of this list,” acknowledged Hannity, “It’s hard for good people to wrap their arms around the concept of evil but there are people who don’t have any souls whether they are jihadists who want to strap their own children with bombs or some guy who goes into a school and doesn’t see precious and beautiful people in front of them.” Sean tweeted earlier and reiterated on his program tonight that this tragedy is every parent’s worst nightmare. Sean continued, “I can’t imagine the officers in Newtown who had to walk into this today,” pointed out Sean, “I just can’t imagine what they’re going through as well.” Sean ended the show with Detective Mark Fuhrman who discussed these events and left with these strong words, “There are no words to tell the parents who lost their children today, how do you tell parents.” “There are no words,” offered Fuhrman, “There are literally no words you can use that aren’t totally inept.”  A tragedy no doubt and our hearts go out to the families of the victims.  You can listen to all of Sean’s reaction plus hear from President Obama by clicking here.

Today's "Hot Topic" From the Hannity Forums:
School Shooting - Posted by Iggy
I know this is a political forum and nearly everything can be made into something political by most of us but I'd like to ask that everyone back off for awhile.  People have lost their lives.  Children are dead.  Show some respect and don't politicize this tragedy today. Instead of looking at this as a chance to score political points, look at it as a chance to embrace your own humanity.  Show compassion.  Pray for the families of the dead and for the recovery of those who are wounded, both in body and in mind.
