The High Cost of Buying American
What About Ayn Rand?
By E. Merrill Root

E. Merrill Root is "troubled by the disavowal of the novelist Ayn Rand by Whittaker Chambers; and now insists that notwithstanding Miss Rand's aggressive atheism, and other stances offensive to a conservative, her works be given the respectful and sympathetic attention of the conservative community." At Harvard, Sir, We Do Not Fish For Souls
By William F. Buckley Jr.

From the Harvard Crimson (Sept. 16, 1959): "For 323 years, Protestantism has supposedly been the traditional religion of Harvard. The only church in the Yard was consecrated in the Protestant tradition, and until recent years any course on religion taught in the College emphasized Protestant Christianity. Yet the religious attitude at Harvard [these days] actually seems detrimental to Protestantism, since over 26 percent of the [undergraduate] students born in this religion have since rejected it." Read WFB's article on the demise of Protestantism at Harvard here.

By John Chamberlain
