Washington Post poll shows Warner would have broad support in Va. governor's race

A new Washington Post poll shows that Sen. Mark Warner (D) would have a far easier time winning the Virginia governor's race next year over the all-but-declared Democrat and two Republicans officially in the race.

Warner has been coy about any plans to run for governor, a post he held from 2002 to 2006. But he would start with a much stronger base of support than fellow Democrat Terry McAuliffe, Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R) or Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (R), the poll finds.
