Sean was joined by former presidential candidate Newt Gingrich to talk about President Obama’s use of executive privilege in the Fast and Furious case. . “I think this is going to be very interesting,” began Hannity, “For a President who spoke out against the use of executive privilege, there’s going to be a huge backlash because it’s clear that the President is hiding something.” “He does look like he’s hiding something,” agreed Gingrich, “This is weird because they’re leaking national secrets which you should keep secret while they’re trying to hide internal bureaucratic arguments which are totally accessible by Congressional investigation.” “He hasn’t stated a relevant reason for hiding this information,” offered Hannity, “It seems that the White House’s official response is that America doesn’t care.” “Executive privilege involves so mething involving the President,” explained Gingrich,” These requests are about what went on in the Justice Department.” While it’s obvious the President would like this scandal to pass by, his hiding behind executive privilege isn’t likely going to make that happen. If he needs any advice, perhaps he should read up on President Nixon’s career. To follow Speaker Gingrich’s goings on, check out his new newsletter at GingrichProductions.com. Karl Rove Karl Rove stopped by the show to talk about the 2012 election from the perspective of someone who successfully led two presidential elections. “What do you make of the White House’s invoking executive privilege after eighteen months,” asked Hannity. “President Obama was so skeptical of executive privilege while he was a candidate,” responded Rove, “The White House is trying to extend the privilege from the president and his top aides to his cabinet and that’s just mind-numbing.” If you stop and think about it, the entire Executive Branch would, if President Obama were to have his way, be protected by executive privilege. If that were to be the case, the balance of power that forms the backbone of our government would be violated and the Presidency would then wield unprecedented power. A very scary thought after what we’ve seen the last four years. To listen to Sean’s interview with Karl Rove, click here. |

| Austan Goolsbee Former Council of Economic Advisors to President Obama, Austan Goolsbee, joined Sean to talk about the future of the economy. “Look at the economy,” began Hannity, “The President had both houses of Congress and he said we’d have to pass the stimulus or we’d have a controversy, he had everything he wanted.” Sean continued, “When Paul Ryan came out with his plan, the President has repeatedly said that Republicans want old people to die and dirty air and water.” “When the President came forward on the stimulus there was universal filibustering by the Republicans,” countered Goolsbee. “What happened to the guy who would cut the deficit in half and end earmarks,” pressed Hannity, “What happened to that guy and all his promises?” “There are no earmarks,” countered Goolsbee, “We passed giant tax extensions which we knew would impact the deficit.” It'll be interesting to see if America remembers all the promises that were made. "Hot Topics" from the Hannity Forums: Obama and Romney Same Approach to Illegal Immigration – Posted by Hereintheusa Listening to Romney talk about reallocating green cards to keep families here illegally made me realize there really is no difference between Obama and Romney on this polarizing issue. Of course we will be told Romney will pursue this without an EO but it amounts to the same policy. Both are pandering to the Hispanic vote and I wonder how conservatives are backing Romney will spin this. My opinion is we should have amnesty, let them pay a fine, give them permanent residency but deny citizenship to send a message. >>TV Tonight (9pm ET FOX) The parents of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. |
